Groundnuts are rich in fats, although in unsaturated form. They are also good sources of proteins and carbohydrates. The peanut is a perennial plant that belongs to the leguminous familiy, and tends to grow up to three palms in height. It is a member of a large number of species which are agriculturally significant for their nutritive value.
The oil is obtained by expeller pressing the peanuts and due to our refining process, the resulting oil has no flavor or aroma at all. It is used to treat hepatic and nephritic spasms as well as intestinal inflamations. It is also used in many pharmaceutical preparations, such as ointments, emulsions and many others, serving as a carrier for some medications.
