The new almond harvest

Spanish almond production 2014/2015 will be almost 90% higher than the last harvest

In Spain, the Agricultural Organizations ASAJA, COAG and UPA, have made the estimation of almond production, obtaining an increase of 89% from the last harvest, although this was lower than usual. These good predictions are due to the absence of significant frost and warm weather during the flowering season, and hoping there are no problems of heavy rain and hail end of this summer. Only the regions of Murcia and Valencia will see decreased production compared to last year. Furthermore, there have also been difficulties in production because of the "cabezudo worm".
